25 July 2012
Today was the last day of school and it was really hot and Leonie had a friend over for a play date, and the hubs had taken the afternoon off, just because. So when we were all sitting at the kitchen table having lunch, thinking about the possibilities of what to do, I came up with the idea of going to the lake. There is one about 20 minutes away from us. So, I packed some snacks, the hubs packed the car and Leonie and her friend went upstairs to grab bathing suits and some water toys and off we went.
It was such a wonderful afternoon. We all had so much fun and the water was amazing. Dipping into the cool floods made me forget how hot it was at work this morning and how busy it was. It felt like heaven!
We hadn't been to this lake in years. It's located in a valley surrounded by hills covered in trees and it is such a quiet and peaceful place, it honestly felt like a little vacation, exactly what we all needed.
We even met some friends we hadn't seen in forever, but it felt like it was yesterday. It was nice catching up and talking about what had happened in our lives in the past few years. So much fun!
We didn't even notice how time was passing and all of the sudden it was almost 6 pm. We only noticed because we were starting to feel a bit hungry, even though the girls had eaten all the snacks I had brought. I'm sure it won't be long until we return. I feel like we found a little peace of heaven to escape real life for a few hours every now and then!
What did you do today? Maybe go to a lake or pool as well?
Tell me all about it!
Hugs,

Ah, I miss Germany so much right now!! Today I played Ticket to Ride (Zug um Zug) with my family and I lost, miserably!!
What an amazing landscape! It truly seems like the perfect setting for a movie.
