Awkward
- Yesterday at the lake there was this one lady wearing a black bathing suit and depending on how she moved it was totally see through. I noticed when she had to bend over right in front of me to pick up her towel - ugh! The thing is that she was a mother of 2 teenage girls that were with her and it really looked inappropriate. (all the men passing her by turned around to look at her) We have a word in German describing the feeling when you're embarrassed for someone else "Fremdscham".
- We took Leonie's friend to the lake with us (after getting the ok from her mom), she was with us all day long until we dropped her off at home around 6:30 pm. One would think that either her mom or dad or even the girl herself would have thanked us for taking her with us to and paying for everything (entrance fee, snacks, ice cream etc.), not that I mind paying for her, but they could have at least had the decency to say "danke".
Awesome
- Today's the first day of summer break! I'm so happy for Leonie that she gets to have this much needed break from school! This past year has been very hard and tough for her and she really deserves to recuperate.
- The hubs just called from work, telling me to pack our bags for the lake, because he was on his way home from the office! I bet you can imagine how excited Leonie is right now. She went straight to her room to change and pack up all the water toys she will need. Oh, and, we're not taking her friend with us today! haha
How has your week been so far? Are you as happy as I am about tomorrow being Friday?! Yay, I cannot wait for the weekend!

And yeah, Fremdschämen is a weird feeling! :) It's so stupid when people can't say "danke"...that's the least thing you could do!

I've experienced that too many times when a thank you should be said, and it's not even acknowledged. I mean really, how hard to just say those words?

I agree. Some people don't have any manners at all... I mean, how hard is it to say "thank you"? You don't expect anything more than a couple of words of recognition.
But I honestly think a lot of people aren't even aware of their behavior... I don't even think they do it "on purpose", because they don't think a "danke" is necessary. I think they just have their heads up their a**es. ;)

Ugh, I hate when people don't say thank you. Even for the littlest things. Its a pet peeve of mine. haha

Haven't been to our lake in ages. There never seems to be time.
Perhaps I will go today. Spontaneously. Jut me, as the hubs is on business trip and will only be home late today.

I definitely would've said thank you. I say thanks for a good time no matter who pays! It's just polite.
