10 July 2012
Here in southern Germany we are surrounded by vineyards and throughout the  valley from Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Wertheim there are little wine villages. Such as Laudenbach, a cute little village located about 10 minutes away from our home (the hubs and I used to rent a condo there when we first moved in together). In Laudenbach there is a hiking trail consisting of 252 steps that leads uphill to a chapel located on top of the hill overlooking the valley full of vineyards. This is the main entrance, guarded by little angels that are located on each side of the door.

This past weekend we decided to go there and show it to Leonie. We hadn't been there in years and I had forgotten how beautiful and peaceful it is. First we walked around the chapel on the outside, I took tons of photos with my iPhone, because when we left our house we hadn't planned on going there and so I didn't take my camera with me. But I think the pictures turned out really good.

This is a side entrance, which was actually the door we used to go inside.

The inside is really beautiful and was still decorated with flowers from a wedding.

We walked around for a while to look at all the beautiful artwork and then we just sat there enjoying the peace and silence. Leonie lit a candle for someone special like she always does when we visit a church or chapel.

Outside of the chapel is a restaurant where you can sit and eat, have lunch or just something to drink. It's so nice up there that we decided to return sometime soon, maybe take our parents out to lunch.

Hope your day is wonderful!

Hugs,
