Yesterday we went to our local fair. We took Leonie and my IL's and headed to the parking lot next to the ferris wheel. When we arrived we were all hungry, so we decided to go to the beer tent for some bratwurst and beer first. And then we walked around the fair for some carousel rides and cotton candy.
We had a lot of fun - especially Leonie who loved going on all the rides with her Dad! They had a blast. Me, I am not the carousel ride type of person anymore. I used to love it all, but now not so much. The only thing I'll actually ride is the roller coaster. But I enjoyed watching them and was always relieved when they made it back to the ground safely.
We met a lot of "old" friends from high school. It was fun seeing them with their families and talking about what had happened in our lives since then. Felt good to catch up and re-connect.
We had a great time, but I have to admit I was happy when it was time to go. All those people, the noise, the smells, the dusty air and the crowded fairground soon became too much for me and I wasn't sad when it was time to leave that all behind.
On our way to the car we grabbed some sweets to take home like roasted almonds, gingerbread hearts, spiced bread and chocolate covered kettle corn (THE best I tell ya)!

We're taking E to a little carnival this weekend. I'm excited to let her run around and ride the wonky rides.
Awe, I'm glad you had fun at the fair! ;) And I totally understand how you felt, I like to go places, but if they're crowded or it's too hot or it smells like food too much, I never feel like staying too long, haha.
