Today I am hoping for some advice from you, my dear readers, followers - friends! As some of you may know, I have gained some weight since moving back to Germany (not that I had my ideal weight before) and I am at a point where I'm starting to feel uncomfortable in my own skin. I really want to lose weight. And not just those few extra pounds I've gained in the past 12 months, but even more. I want to be at a healthy weight again and I want to lose it in a "normal" pace, so I don't gain it back right afterward.
Which means no super fast speedy diet where you're on a low calorie intake and lose weight like a F-16 and once you switch back to "normal" eating habits you gain it back and then some. I have been thinking of signing up for Weight Watchers for quite some time now, but I don't want to go to meetings (I don't feel like stepping on the scale in front of others, yet), I want to do the online version.
And this is where you come in. I know that some of you have done or are doing WW. And I know that some of you do the online version. Please tell me all about it! Does it really work? Did it work for you? Was it easy or was it rather hard? Do you have any tips for me? Give me all the information you have! Pretty please! If you don't want to write about it in the comments, you can email me at
chrissyzang[at]gmail[dot]com anytime!
I would really appreciate if you took a few minutes to help a girl out here!
Thanks so much!

My mom does Weight Watchers online and loves it. You have to be super disciplined in order to carry through with it though. I used to go to Weight Watchers meetings nad the weighing in part is very discreet. No one expect for the people who work there see your weight. They a sticker on your book each week with your weight and how you are doing weight loss wise! I loved the meetings when I used to go. It was nice to be around people who struggle with the same issues you do! I would recommend doing either :)
I literally just posted about weight loss today and about making it a lifestyle change, not just a fad diet! You should check it out if you want :) http://jamie-brooke.blogspot.com/2012/08/being-healthy.html
Anyways, if you ever need any advice, let me know!

Thanks Love!
I am currently trying to loose weight too cause I'm WAY over the "normal" weight for my age/height. I haven't been doing a program though, I don't think I could afford it. I've just been trying to be much more conscious of what I'm eating and making sure I'm exercising more. I'm proud of you for reaching out about this! Let me know how WW treats you!

Hi, Chrissy! Whatever you choose to do in order to get back on a healthy diet, I hope you succeed. The key is to be really determined to do it and understand that it's a new lifestyle and not just something to do for a period of time. God it's not easy, but once you start seeing results, you'll be happy and more motivated to keep going.
I have not tried WW, but my mother-in-law has. She loved going to the meetings! It did not exist in Argentina when I lived there, but a long time ago I tried a method which consisted of going to meetings too and it really worked for me.
Hope you have a great week! ;D
Have never done WW, but lost 20LB last year and kept it off since. Here's how: I eat raw before dinner. That might sound intimidating and weird, but it's easy, convenient, and not at all weird. I have a smoothie for breakfast (spinach + frozen fruit + some liquid juice/water/milk). Lunch is cut up veggies, cut up fruit, and a few nuts.
I think small things done consistently make a huge difference. WEight Watchers is a great example of that by counting points and holding yourself accountable w/ weigh ins. MyFitnessPal is a great iphone app that counts calories and you can put in a current/goal weight and it will tell you what your limit should be for the weight loss goal you have (like 1 lb a week, etc).
I've lost 60lbs since I had Maddi :). I eat consistently good meals, some cheat days. I exercise 5 days a week. But when I started, I started with 3 days a week of walking and counting calories. Now I mostly eat consistently good/healthy meals and exercise regularly. The weightloss journey is a habit for me and I have another 50lbs until I hit my goal goal weight.
Let me know if I can help you with your weight loss or any goals :).
But please know that you are beautiful regardless of size. That's why they make sweat pants. Just saying!
HUGS!
My Mom did WW and lost a substantial amount of weight with it (and was able to maintain it (mostly) afterwards)... so I definitely think it is a good approach to also get to change your eating habits.
I'm a little late and I've never done or known someone who has tried WW's.. but I will say this.
You are absolutely beautiful. I mean that.
Screw weight. I used to be obsessed with my weight and hated taking my shirt off but letting that bother you just sucks. I hated that it took away a lot of opportunities and fun times because I was worried someone was looking at me.
Best of luck to you and getting to the size you want, but don't let it take over too much of your thinking or image. :) You're perfect the way you are. <3
Wish I could help! I've never really been very interested in diets, haha.
I read this the other day and should have commented... I need to get better at commenting before I move onto the next post, as otherwise I read a whole bunch of posts, the phone rings or something, and I wander off and forget to do it!
anyway my point is 2 things.
1.. your blog is always such a refreshing stop and I really enjoy it continually
and 2.. my aunt has done WW for years.. it is definitely a big commitment..time, thought etc. but it worked for her... she is no longer on the program but she still thinks in terms of points and such.
Good luck! xo
