29 October 2012
I woke up to this beautiful wintery scenery this morning. And even though I have the week off, I heard the hubs get up and after that there was no way of getting back to sleep. So I cuddled up just a bit more with kitty purring next to me and then went downstairs to brew me a cup of chai tea.
It was still dark outside when I got up at a quarter to 7 am, because we turned back the clocks here in Germany on Saturday night. So I cuddled up on the sofa with my tea and a blanket and turned on the tv. I watched some re-runs of German sitcoms until I noticed the sunrise. I grabbed my camera and snapped away. It was so pretty.
Everything was frozen with a layer of ice on the edges of the leaves. It looked so magical. I hope the temps will go up a bit again though, I am not ready enjoying wonderful fall walks with the pup. My favorite seasons fall and spring always seem to fly by, leaving us with a long cold winter and a never-ending humid and hot summer.
Shortly after I took this photos the whole valley behind our home was covered in a thick layer of fog. It's unbelievable how fast the weather can change during this time of year. Speaking of, have you started getting your Christmas presents together? Do you plan and buy ahead of time or are you a last minute pressie organizer?
I have started working on some handmade pressies a while ago and I must say I am on the best way of getting everything together on time this year. Normally I get everything for Leonie way on time, and buy the gifts for everyone else kind of like in the last minute. But, this time around everything is looking a lot better.
Have a wonderful Monday, friends! xxx
Hugs,

Welcome

Hi, I'm Chrissy - a part-time working mom and wife trying to navigate life by taking the pup for a walk while the pasta is cooking, so that lunch is ready on time. My spare time is for blogging and knitting - give me a precious skein of yarn and I am in heaven! Thanks for stopping by - enjoy! xxx

I'm so jealous of the scenery you have. Your photos are so pretty.
How lovely! Christmas is really starting to feel like it's setting in whether I want it to (this early, at least) or not. Just the other day, the roads were packed like it was shopping season already!
So beautiful! :) I'm glad I found your blog, it has a lot of pretty inspirational posts that for sure I'm going to enjoy! (following you now both through google and bloglovin).

Beautiful photos Chrissy! You are lucky to be surrounded by such beauty!
beautiful pictures! even though I'm only fond of snow if I am at home. :)
I started Christmas shopping for people a couple months ago. As soon as I saw something I bought it. Instead of waiting.
I go Black Friday shopping but most of the time I just get clothes - my niece & nephews probably aren't happy that's what they get. ha. And I tend to get most of my clothing that day too.
Oh wow, that doesn't really look like October! Great pictures!
Have a fantastic cold week! Hugs!
So beautiful! And I'm loving the pressies you're making on Instagram!
It surely looks like winter in Germany these days ;) Maybe we will get some snow when I come home for Christmas? :)
I am working on my Christmas list as well.
Wow, that is absolutely beautiful! It almost makes me wish for cold weather. *almost* :)
Wow this really is gorgeous! What a scene to wake up to! Hope you're staying warm!
Wow, that's beautiful! I feel chilly just looking at this photo.
